My executive and leadership coaching services will help organisations encourage diversity of experience and backgrounds amongst their senior workforce.
What is corporate coaching?
Corporate coaching involves coaching towards organisational goals. A corporate coach focuses on the corporate vision, mission, values and strategy. Results are measured against the performance requirements of the organisation.
Corporate coaching combines basic coaching skills with an in-depth understanding of the language, dynamics, processes and culture of organisations – whether these are large or small or in the public or private sector.
What does corporate coaching look like?
As an organisation you can:
- arrange for high potential members of your workforce to receive individual coaching, that is, a series of one-to-one coaching sessions, or
- provide a mix of individual coaching and sessions that involve multiple individuals, for example, a specific team or a group of people from a variety of teams.
Group sessions can involve individuals who are:
- all at the same level – for example, those going for a particular type of promotion, or
- at different levels – for example, participants from more junior positions to those already filling senior positions.
There are benefits in any of these approaches. Different individuals have their ‘lightbulb’ moments at different times and are stimulated by different things in a development programme; it can be hard to predict exactly what will trigger it.
Why should you consider corporate coaching?
Human resources are an organisation’s most valuable asset, therefore valuing them and investing in them will reap rewards, not least retaining the brightest and best.
Corporate coaching can allow an organisation to:
- provide an objective and independent sounding board to a potential leader
- accelerate the personal development of high performing individuals and teams
- identify how a diverse individual’s unique experience and background can best benefit the organisation
- develop employees to meet the need for increased competency in specific areas in specific competencies
- help employees assess current needs, opportunities, and challenges, all while maximising the potential they already possess.
- help manage and minimise stress, change or conflict in the workplace
- offer tailored development as a means of rewarding and retaining key staff critical to the business
What can corporate coaching achieve?
Benefits for the organisation are likely to include:
- greater commitment from recipients of the coaching
- higher retention of talented individuals who now feel valued
- a significant increase in morale and motivation of people
- more creativity, empowerment and ownership at every level of the business
- higher retention of internal expertise and experience
- demonstrating a willingness to provide teams and individuals with the support they need to reach their potential
- improved management and leadership
- better succession planning by developing a sufficient ‘pipeline’ of high-quality leaders who can help an organisation thrive
